This results in a gradual increase in skin thickness and volume, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and lines.

Kybella®

Pricing

  • $600

Treatable Concerns

  • Chin Slimming
  • Jawline Definition
  • Neck Contouring
  • Profile Enhancement

About

Kybella treatments are quick and convenient, with appointments lasting about 20 minutes. Following treatment, swelling is expected and can last up to 14 days. Once the swelling subsides, most patients begin to see results within a couple of weeks, with continued improvement over time. For best results, a series of 2–6 treatment sessions spaced several weeks apart is usually recommended. Kybella is an excellent option for healthy adults with a moderate amount of fat under the chin or in other targeted areas, such as bra fat. Downtime is minimal beyond the initial swelling period.

How long does it last?

The number of Kybella treatments varies from patient to patient, depending on the amount of fat in the treatment area. In most cases, 2–6 sessions are recommended, spaced about one month apart.

Pre + Post Treatment

Pre

  • Avoid blood-thinning agents. For at least 1 week before your appointment, stop taking any medications or supplements that can increase bruising. These include aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), naproxen (Aleve), St. John’s Wort, fish oil, and high doses of vitamin E.
  • Discontinue specific products. Two to seven days before your treatment, avoid topical products such as retinol, retinoids, glycolic acid, or harsh exfoliants on the area.
  • Refrain from alcohol. Avoid alcoholic beverages for at least 24 to 48 hours before your treatment, as alcohol can thin the blood.
  • Reschedule if needed. Postpone your treatment if you have a rash, infection, or cold sore near the injection site.

Post

  • Manage swelling: Apply cold compresses to the treated area for 15 minutes at a time, every hour, for the first 24–48 hours. Sleep with your head elevated on extra pillows for the first few nights.
  • Expect temporary side effects: You will likely experience swelling, redness, and numbness, which can last for weeks.
  • Do not massage: Avoid rubbing or massaging the injection site to prevent disrupting the healing process.
  • Avoid strenuous activity: For the first 24–48 hours, avoid intense exercise and excessive heat.
  • Take Tylenol: For discomfort, use over-the-counter acetaminophen (Tylenol). Avoid anti-inflammatory medications, such as ibuprofen, for several days.
  • Stay hydrated and eat well: Drink plenty of water and avoid high-sodium foods to help reduce swelling.
